CREATED FOR HIS PLEASURE

BIBLE READING: Psalm 104:1-30

It is a long-established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using the man, who is in a stable condition in hospital, has “potentially life-changing injuries” after the overnight attack in Garvagh, County Lono donderry. He was shot in the arms and legs. “What sort of men would think it is acceptable to subject a young girl to this level of brutality and violence?

“By faith Enoch was taken away so that he did not see death, “and was not found because God had taken him”; for before he was taken, he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” Hebrews 11: 5(NKJV)

Having been created in the Image and Likeness of God, you would imagine that we would discern the Heart of God at every time and make His Heart glad because that is what He actually wants. His desire is that we would spend our lives loving Him and being in His Presence because after all that is why He made us in the first place. Revelation 4:11says, “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.

After creating Adam and Eve, God did not come out in the cool of the day to meet with the animals or the trees but with man. It was God’s Pleasure to fellowship with man until man fell but thank God that the Sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross has restored our fellowship with Him. Hebrews 10:19 says, “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the Holiest by the Blood of Jesus”

As God’s children with the Image of God, it is expected that we live our lives pleasing God. As the Psalms say, Bless ye the Lord, all ye His Hosts; ye Ministers of His, that do His Pleasure (Psalm 103:21).

 “The Lord taketh pleasure in them that fear Him, in those that hope in His Mercy” (Psalm 147:11). “For the Lord taketh pleasure in His people; He will beautify the meek with salvation” (Psalm 149:4).

God wants us to remain at the Centre of His Will because it gives Him so much pleasure when we walk according to His Purpose. Ephesians 1:9 says.

“Having made known unto us the mystery of His Will, according to His Good Pleasure which He hath purposed in Himself”

With the help of God, we can always live our lives giving Him Good Pleasure. Philippians 2:13 assures us that; “For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His Good Pleasure”

May the Lord help us to always do His Good Pleasure and to be in the center of His will!
